Mr. Okano graduated from the University of California, Irvine before going on to earn his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Prior to receiving his law degree, he held an externship with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California.
During his time at law school, Mr. Okano was active in the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and the Hawaiian Club—two organizations dedicated to furthering awareness of Asian American culture and contributions to the United States. Both organizations also make it their mission to foster Asian American attorneys in an effort to preserve and promote justice for all Americans and people throughout the United States, without regard to race, ethnicity, or gender.
Mr. Okano’s father was born and raised in California and served in the US Navy. His mother was born in Honolulu, HI before moving to California as a young adult. Mr. Okano is a graduate of Gardena High School in Gardena, CA.
